However, with the new IOS updates and changes in website tracking rules, some of those custom audience strategies have changed.
So what do you use now?
The answer is to use a Lookalike custom audience to show ads to your top of funnel audience. Go to Custom Audiences, and create an audience of everyone who has engaged with your church’s Facebook or Instagram account within the last year. This is the audience type you should use when creating Retargeting ads.
Then you create a Lookalike audience based on that Facebook and Instagram engagement audience. This tells Facebook to show your Top of Funnel ads to anyone who is similar to the people who already have engaged with your church on social media within the past year.
Remember, always use a tight location radius on your ads, otherwise you will be showing ads to people who are outside of your church’s location.
